Commercial applications for aragonite sand

One natural material, screened to different particle ranges and packed for different buyers. Each category below lists the property a buyer normally evaluates, the specifications that matter, what is needed to qualify an order and which documents are available. Final suitability is always determined for the specific formulation, process or system.

Category 1

Aquarium and aquaculture products

Substrate, graded media and carbonate source for marine, brackish and selected freshwater systems, supplied to distributors, brands, public aquariums and aquaculture operators.

Aquarium & aquaculture supply

Property evaluated: Particle distribution for bed, flow and cleaning; carbonate chemistry; fines and turbidity.
Relevant specifications: AG-CAL 0.2–0.5 mm, WT-CAL 1–3 mm, or a custom cut; typical chemistry; moisture.
To qualify: System type, species, chemistry targets, particle range, volume, packaging and destination; trial on a sample.

Category 2

Water treatment and alkalinity media

The 1–3 mm WT-CAL grade is published for process-water remineralization, alkalinity management, pond preparation and carbonate aggregate duty. Potable-water applications require the buyer to confirm the applicable standard before supply; no drinking-water certification is claimed on this site.

Relevant specifications: WT-CAL 1–3 mm; CaCO₃ 96.17% representative; specific gravity 2.93; turbidity 380 NTU representative.

Category 3

Turf, horticultural and landscape materials

The 0.2–0.5 mm AG-CAL grade is published for turf, golf-course and landscape top-dressing, greens and horticultural mixes, and the custom range for greens plating sand. Decorative or landscape-aggregate use of the coarser grade is quoted on enquiry against the buyer’s specification.

Relevant specifications: AG-CAL 0.2–0.5 mm or custom; elemental calcium 38.51% representative; sphericity 0.82, roundness 0.87.
To qualify: Programme or mix specification, soil or rootzone report where relevant, volume, packaging and destination.

Category 4

Specialty blending and formulation

Sized calcium carbonate for fertilizer blending, nutrient carriers, mineral blends and private formulations. Custom classification across 20–325 U.S. mesh is produced to a written target distribution. Feed-ration calcium is a custom classification subject to the ration formulator’s particle requirements and a lot-specific certificate of analysis; no feed-grade designation is claimed here.

Property evaluated: Target particle distribution, flow and blending behaviour, moisture, calcium content.
Relevant specifications: Custom cut or a published grade; typical chemistry; moisture 5–10% published range.
To qualify: Target specification or sieve limits, formulation role, annual volume, packaging and destination.

Category 5

Manufactured products and industrial evaluation

Custom classification is published for kiln feed, proppant feed and similar process inputs. Glass-batch feed (GL-CAL, below 0.1 mm) and functional filler (PL-CAL, to specification) are industrial grades handled through AragoCor Minerals rather than this sand site.

Category 6

Private-label and distribution supply

AragoCor Minerals matches grade, sizing, packaging and private-label options to a requested volume. Labelling, bag artwork and branding limits are agreed per programme. Indicate private-label interest on the quote form and the programme terms are discussed directly.

Property evaluated: Consistency of grade lot to lot; packaging configuration; documentation for the buyer’s own labelling and compliance.
Relevant specifications: Published grade or custom cut; lot COA against contract limits.
To qualify: Market, bag sizes, annual volume, labelling requirements, destination or distribution points.
